DATA INTEGRATION Delivered workflow
Forecast-to-Qlik Pipeline
Combining Salesforce forecasts, market data and business rules for management reporting.
Built on an existing Salesforce-to-Qlik feed with additional market sources, checks, adjustments and reporting views for regional management across nine countries.
Replaced the repeated Excel calculation and separate Qlik upload step.
A public transformation demo with reconciliation and controlled-failure checks.
Result & scope ↓The business problem
A Salesforce-to-Qlik feed already existed, but it could not satisfy the full range of management requirements. Additional market sources, checks, adjustments and reporting views were needed, and no single source contained everything. Teams filled those gaps by downloading data into Excel, applying addressable-market percentages by customer, product group and product segment, and uploading recalculated values into Qlik. A simple update took about three hours; extensive changes could add five hours of validation. Spontaneous updates could not flow through that manual process.
My contribution
I coordinated requirements across country teams, finance and IT and developed the additional integration, calculation and validation workflow around the existing Salesforce-to-Qlik feed. I brought together forecasts from Salesforce, the customer relationship management system, additional market data and management reporting rules. This included addressable-market calculations and alternative reporting views, replacing the separate Excel calculation and upload cycle.
The result
Regional management could review updated forecasts together with the market context and reporting definitions it needed. Sales reps could update Salesforce as new information arrived, and the extended workflow carried those changes through without repeating the Excel calculation and upload cycle. It supported near-real-time review across nine countries and more realistic discussions of sales goals.
I performed this work myself. A simple Excel calculation and Qlik upload took about three hours. When many changes occurred, data validation could add another five hours, bringing the former workload to around eight hours in those cases. The interactive example uses fictional figures and updates immediately to explain the flow; the live workflow depended on the connected systems’ refresh timing.

The idea in practice
Illustrative examples use fictional data.
One update reaches management.
Existing feed, extended · fictional units and timing
The manual Excel calculation and separate upload are replaced by integrated market data, checks and reporting rules around an existing Salesforce-to-Qlik feed. A sales rep changes 120 to 160 forecast units; the country total moves from 1,000 to 1,040. These fictional timings do not measure Qlik refresh latency.
The delivery approach
Assemble the information management needs
Use forecasts entered by sales reps in Salesforce and combine them with additional market sources. Align the customer, product and country context so information unavailable in any one source can be used together.
Apply checks, adjustments and reporting definitions
Integrate validation and reporting adjustments into the flow. Apply estimated addressable percentages at customer, product-group and product-segment level and prepare the total and addressable views needed for management discussions.
Keep the reporting flow maintainable
Reconcile totals, handle exceptions and block invalid outputs. Document sources, rules and operating steps, and distinguish successful processing from a verified refresh in Qlik.
